Born to Ghatotkacha and Maurvi, Barbarika was granted the boon by Lord Krishna that he would be worshipped in Kaliyuga as Shyam, the Lord who answers prayers made with pure devotion. His temple in Khatu, Rajasthan, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites, where millions of devotees gather every year to seek his divine grace and blessings.
